1. Our designated agent
Send copyright notices and counter-notices to our designated agent under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. 512):
[Designated agent name pending registration]
[Legal entity name pending], trading as Reelr
[Mailing address pending]
Phone: [Phone number pending]
Email: hello@reelr.live
You can also use the form below. It goes to the same place.
2. What to put in a notice
A notice has to include all of these:
- Your signature, typed or written. If you act for the owner, say who they are.
- The work you own, such as a photo or a video, and where you published it if you can.
- Where the copy is on Reelr, with a link to each one.
- Your name, mailing address, phone number and email address.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
3. Send a notice
4. What happens next
We look at every notice and, when it is complete, we take the material down or block access to it promptly. We tell the person who posted it and send them a copy of the notice, including your contact details, so they can reply. We keep a private copy of the material and our records while the matter is open.
5. If your work was taken down by mistake
If you posted the material and believe it was removed by mistake or because it was misidentified, you can send a counter-notice to our designated agent. It has to include all of these:
- Your signature, typed or written.
- What was removed and where it was on Reelr before it was removed.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, mailing address and phone number.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district where Reelr may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the notice, or their agent.
We send your counter-notice to the person who sent the notice. If they do not tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action to stop the use, we put the material back within 10 to 14 business days of receiving your counter-notice.
6. Repeat infringers
We keep a record of valid notices against each account. Where appropriate, we close the accounts of people who repeatedly post work that infringes someone else's copyright.
7. Please be accurate
Under US law, a person who knowingly makes a false claim in a notice or counter-notice can be liable for the costs and damages it causes. If you are not sure whether something infringes your copyright, you may want to talk to a lawyer first.
8. Something other than copyright
For a safety problem, harassment, or anything else, use Report on the profile, photo, video or booking, see our Safety page, or email hello@reelr.live.
