Privacy Policy

Reelr ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website reelr.live (the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information about you when you use the Platform.

By using the Platform, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

Information you provide directly. When you create an account or use the Platform, we may collect your name, email address, password, city and state, Instagram handle, portfolio links, equipment information, and payment information (processed through Stripe — we do not store payment card details).

Information collected automatically. When you use the Platform, we may automatically collect your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring URLs. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect this information.

Information from third parties. If you log in using Google OAuth, we receive your name and email address from Google. If you connect a Stripe account, Stripe may share relevant account information with us.

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Display your profile to potential clients on the Platform
• Facilitate bookings and payments between clients and Creatives
• Send booking confirmations, notifications, and milestone emails
• Improve the Platform and develop new features
• Monitor and analyze usage patterns
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud or abuse
• Comply with legal obligations
• Send you promotional communications (you may opt out at any time)

With other users. Your profile information — including your name, specialty, location, portfolio, equipment, rate, and booking mode — is publicly visible to all visitors of the Platform. Your email address is not publicly displayed.

With service providers. We share information with third-party vendors who provide services on our behalf, including Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (email delivery), and Anthropic (AI-powered features). These providers are bound by data processing agreements and may only use your information to perform services for us.

AI-powered features. Reelr offers optional AI-assisted features, such as profile bio generation, powered by Anthropic's Claude API. When you use these features, the information you provide (such as your name, specialty, and experience) is sent to Anthropic for processing. Anthropic processes this data in accordance with their privacy policy and does not use your data to train their models. You are not required to use AI features, and you may edit or discard any AI-generated content.

Analytics. We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymized usage data such as page views, visit duration, and device type. This data does not include personally identifiable information and is used solely to improve the Platform.

For legal reasons. We may disclose your information if required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Reelr, our users, or the public.

Business transfers. If Reelr is acquired by or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owner as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and analyze Platform usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling cookies may affect your ability to use certain features of the Platform.

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as dispute resolution or fraud prevention.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Authentication is handled through Supabase's secure infrastructure. Payment data is processed and stored by Stripe, which is PCI DSS compliant. However, no security system is impenetrable and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

The Platform is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

Access and correction. You may access and update most of your account information through your dashboard. To request access to or correction of other information we hold about you, contact us at hello@reelr.live.

Deletion. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information by contacting us. Note that some information may be retained as described in Section 6.

Marketing emails. You may opt out of promotional emails by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us. Transactional emails related to your bookings and account cannot be opted out of while your account is active.

California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have additional rights including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale (we do not sell personal information). The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, including Instagram and other social platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where required, by email. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
