Safety
Stay safe on every shoot.
Shoots happen in person, in homes, venues and out on location. Here is how to look after yourself, and how to tell us when something goes wrong.
Everyone
Before the shoot
- Agree the plan in Reelr messages: the place, the time, how long, and who will be there. That way there is a record.
- Tell a friend where you are going and when you expect to be done.
- If you have not worked together before, it is fine to meet somewhere public first, or to bring someone with you.
- Pay and get paid through Reelr. Be careful if anyone asks you to pay or book outside it.
Clients
If you are booking a creative
- Look at their profile, their work and their reviews before you book.
- Ask who is coming. A creative may bring an assistant or a second shooter, and you should know in advance.
- Keep valuables and private documents out of the shoot area.
Creatives
If you are the creative
- You can bring an assistant. Tell the client before the shoot.
- Keep your gear in sight, and do not share your home address unless you need to.
- If a shoot involves minors, get a parent or guardian's consent and keep them present.
Everyone
At the shoot
- Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, you can stop and leave. Your safety comes first.
- Keep your phone charged and with you.
- If the plan changes on the day, agree it in Reelr messages so it is written down.
If something goes wrong
- If you are in danger, call 911. Do that before anything else.
- Then tell us. From the shoot day on, open the booking in your dashboard and choose Report this person. Clients find it on their bookings page, creatives on their Bookings tab. You can also email hello@reelr.live with your name, the other person's name and the date of the booking.
- If it is about the work or the money, such as a late delivery or a refund, open a dispute on the booking instead. Our payments and refunds page explains how.
What we do with a report
Every report reaches our team. We read it, may contact you for more detail, and can pause or suspend the other person's account, or stop them from booking, while we look into it. We do not share your email address with the person you reported.
What Reelr checks, and what it does not
Our team reviews every creative's profile before they can take bookings. We do not run background checks on clients or creatives, and we do not attend shoots. Using Reelr does not make a shoot risk free, so please use the steps above. Our Terms explain this in section 8A.
